Årsaker og risikofaktorer
Medfødt (små raser ofte ekstrahepatisk; store intrahepatisk). Ervervet ved portal hypertensjon.

- Nevrologiske tegn (hoved) etter måltid
- Veksthemming, oppkast, diaré
- Polyuri/polydipsi, uratkristaller
- Hypersalivasjon (katter)
Hodepressing er et vanlig nevrologisk tegn.
