Apa itu?
Darah portal ke sirkulasi sistemik tanpa lewat hati (kongenital atau didapat). Ensefalopati hepatik, keterlambatan tumbuh, kristal urat.
Penyebab dan faktor risiko
Kongenital (ras kecil sering ekstrahepatik; besar intrahepatik). Didapat karena hipertensi portal.
Tanda
- Tanda neurologis (utama) setelah makan
- Keterlambatan tumbuh, muntah, diare
- Poliuria/polidipsia, kristal urat
- Hipersalivasi (kucing)
Menekan kepala adalah tanda neurologis umum.
Diagnosis
Asam empedu, amonia, USG Doppler, CT/angio; lab dan urine.

Pengobatan

Pencegahan
Jangan biakkan yang terdampak; diagnosis dini memperbaiki hasil.
Kapan menghubungi dokter hewan
Anak anjing terlambat tumbuh atau tanda neuro setelah makan. Darurat jika kejang atau stupor.
Untuk ras tertentu
Yorkie, maltese, shih tzu dan toy; ras besar; juga kucing.
