Furosemide
別名: Lasix, Salix, Disal, Dimazon, Frusecare, Frusedale, Libeo, Frusol
Furosemide (often known by the brand name Lasix) is a potent **diuretic** or "water pill" used to help your pet's body eliminate excess fluid. It is most commonly prescribed for heart failure or fluid in the lungs. > **Important:** Because this medication removes water from the body, your pet will urinate much more frequently and in larger amounts. **Always ensure your pet has free access to fresh drinking water** to prevent severe dehydration. * **Monitoring at Home:** If your pet is being treated for heart disease, your veterinarian may ask you to count your pet's **resting respiratory rate** (breaths per minute while sleeping). This is a crucial tool to ensure the medication dose is correct. * **When to Call the Vet:** Contact your veterinarian immediately if you notice signs of dehydration or electrolyte imbalance, such as excessive thirst, extreme lethargy, weakness, restlessness, reduced urination, vomiting, or a very fast heart rate. * **Dosing:** Follow your veterinarian's dosing instructions exactly. Do not change the dose without consulting them, as the balance between clearing fluid and causing dehydration is delicate.

給藥方式
可能的副作用
- Fluid and electrolyte abnormalities (hyponatremia, hypokalemia, hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia)
- Prerenal azotemia (secondary to dehydration)
- Ototoxicity (especially in cats with high-dose IV therapy)
- Gastrointestinal distress
- Hematologic effects (anemia, leukopenia)
- Weakness and restlessness
- Hypokalaemia
- Hypochloraemia
- Hypocalcaemia
- Hypomagnesaemia
- Hyponatraemia
- Dehydration
- Polyuria/polydipsia (PU/PD)
- Prerenal azotaemia
注意事項與禁忌
- Anuria
- Hypersensitivity to furosemide
- Progressive renal disease if increasing azotemia and oliguria occur during therapy
- Seriously depleted electrolytes
- Severe dehydration
- Severe electrolyte depletion
- Hepatic coma
- Dehydration
- Pericardial effusion where cardiac tamponade is confirmed
- Use with caution in patients with pre-existing electrolyte or water balance abnormalities, impaired hepatic function (may precipitate hepatic coma), and diabetes mellitus. Monitor carefully in patients with conditions leading to fluid loss (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea). Patients hypersensitive to sulfonamides may also be hypersensitive to furosemide. Ensure animals have normal food and water intake to prevent imbalances.
藥物相互作用
- ACE INHIBITORS (e.g., enalapril, benazepril): Increased risks for hypotension, particularly in patients who are volume or sodium depleted secondary to diuretics
- AMINOGLYCOSIDES (gentamicin, amikacin, etc.): Increased risk for ototoxicity
- AMPHOTERICIN B: Loop diuretics may increase the risk for nephrotoxicity development; hypokalemia
- CORTICOSTEROIDS: Increased risk for GI ulceration; hypokalemia
- DIGOXIN: Furosemide-induced hypokalemia may increase the potential for digoxin toxicity
- INSULIN: Furosemide may alter insulin requirements
- MUSCLE RELAXANTS, NON-DEPOLARIZING (e.g., atracurium, tubocurarine): Furosemide may prolong neuromuscular blockade
- PROBENECID: Furosemide can reduce uricosuric effects
- SALICYLATES: Loop diuretics can reduce the excretion of salicylates
- SUCCINYLCHOLINE: Furosemide may potentiate effects
- THEOPHYLLINE: Pharmacologic effects of theophylline may be enhanced when used with furosemide
