Feline hepatic lipidosis, commonly known as fatty liver disease, is a serious, life-threatening metabolic condition where fat builds up rapidly in a cat's liver cells. Often triggered by a period of decreased appetite, this condition requires prompt veterinary intervention. Fortunately, with early diagnosis and aggressive, long-term nutritional support, the disease is highly reversible, and most cats can make a full recovery.

Penyebab dan faktor risiko

Tanda
- Kardinal: anoreksia, ikterus, letargi
- Umum: muntah, turun berat, dehidrasi
- Kadang: tanda neurologis, kelemahan otot
Telinga dan membran kuning bersifat kardinal.
Diagnosis
Riwayat, tes darah, USG, sering sitologi hati.
USG: hati cerah oleh lemak.
Pengobatan
- Nutrisi berbantuan dini (selang)
- Cairan dan elektrolit
- Antiemetik dan suport; obati penyebab anoreksia
Prognosis
Lebih baik dengan nutrisi dini; tanpa suport buruk.
Pencegahan
Hindari puasa pada kucing kelebihan berat; obati anoreksia dini.
Kapan hubungi dokter hewan
Darurat: kucing tidak makan 24-48 jam, ikterus, muntah, kelemahan berat.
