Cutaneous Lymphoma

Cutaneous lymphoma

Også kjent som: Epitheliotropic Lymphoma, Nonepitheliotropic Lymphoma, Mycosis Fungoides, Cutaneous Lymphosarcoma

VeterinærgodkjentCatDogHaster: ModerateHvor vanlig: Uncommon

Kort fortalt

Cutaneous lymphoma is an uncommon but serious skin cancer in dogs and cats where abnormal white blood cells accumulate in the skin, causing persistent redness, scaling, hair loss, or lumps that can easily be mistaken for chronic allergies.

A golden retriever with visible hair loss and red, flaky skin on its side.
Cutaneous lymphoma can cause widespread hair loss, redness, and scaling that mimics severe allergies.

TL;DR. Uvanlig men alvorlig hudkreft: unormale lymfocytter i huden med rødhet, flassing, hårtap eller knuter; ofte forvekslet med allergi.

Utbredt hårtap, rødhet og flassing kan ligne allergi.

Hva er det?

Maligne lymfocytter i huden. Epiteliotróp (ofte T-celler, epidermis/munn) vs ikke-epiteliotróp (B/T, dermale/subkutane knuter).

"Nonepitheliotropic lymphoma is a malignant neoplasm that may arise from B or T lymphocytes. It is uncommon in dogs and cats, with highest incidence in older animals. Usually, nonepitheliotropic lymphoma appears as multiple, firm,"

Årsaker og risikofaktorer

Årsak uklar. Alder øker risiko. Hunderaser: Boxers, Scottish Terriers, Golden Retrievers, Rottweilers.

Tegn

  • Vanlige: kløe, flassing, plakk/knuter, erytem, alopeci
  • Iblant: tredeputshyperkeratose, orale sår, mukokutan depigmentering, lymfadenomegali

A cat's muzzle showing loss of pigment and small ulcerations around the lips.
Mukokutan depigmentering og sår mulige.

Diagnostikk

FNA begrenset; biopsi/histopatologi gullstandard. Staging: blod, ultralyd, thoraxrøntgen, lymfeknute-FNA.

"Distinguishing these requires a biopsy sample to assess the tissue distribution of lymphocytes in relation to the epidermis, and this cannot be done with cytological samples."

Behandling

Systemisk: COP Chemotherapy Protocol. Støtte: antibiotika/antimykotika, medisinske bad, analgesi.

Prognose

Sakte progressiv, helbredelse sjelden. Epiteliotróp ofte tregere; ikke-epiteliotróp ofte aggressivere/systemisk tidligere.

Forebygging

Ingen sikker forebygging. Tidlig biopsi ved refraktær dermatose.

Når ringe veterinær

Akutt: kollaps; vedvarende oppkast/diaré; spent buk; åndenød.

For bestemte raser

Boxer, Scottish Terrier, Golden Retriever, Rottweiler: utred tidlig kroniske hudforandringer og knuter, ikke bare som allergi.
