Patella glider i femurs trochlea. Luksation medialt (hyppigt) eller lateralt. Grad I–IV. Mekanisk halt og bruskskade.
Årsager og risikofaktorer
Oftest medfødt (lav fure, fejlstilling); sjældent traumatisk. Medial: små/toy; lateral: store racer, ofte med hofteledsdysplasi. Kat sjældnere, mest medial.
Tegn
- Hoppende gang
- Halt
- Varus (hjulbenet) ved medial
- Lav holdning, tæer indad
- Sjældent: akut ikke-belastning
Hjulbenethed er almindelig ved medial luksation.
Diagnostik
Palpation og grad I–IV. Røntgen knæ og hofte: fure, akse, artrose, samtidige sygdomme.
Røntgen vurderer knogleakse og hofte.
Behandling
Konservativt I / mild II: vægt, lav belastning, ledstøtte. Kirurgi symptomatisk II–IV: trochleoplastik, TTT, bløddele; osteotomier ved IV.
Prognose
I–III efter kirurgi ofte god/udmærket. IV forbeholden til dårlig; artrose mulig.
Forebyggelse
Avl ikke på afficerede dyr. Idealvægt fra ung alder.
Hvornår ringe til dyrlægen
Tid ved hoppende gang eller hjulbenethed. Akut ved pludselig ikke-belastning, stærk smerte eller manglende rejsning.
