Pericardial effusion is a life-threatening veterinary emergency where fluid builds up in the sac surrounding the heart. This pressure prevents the heart from filling with blood, leading to weakness, breathing difficulties, and potential collapse. Immediate veterinary intervention is critical to drain the fluid and restore normal heart function.

Là gì?
Tích tụ dịch trong túi màng ngoài tim chèn ép tim (tamponade) và giảm cung lượng tim.
"Cardiac tamponade develops when pericardial fluid accumulation raises intrapericardial pressure to or above the normal diastolic pressure of the right side of the heart, preventing normal filling."
Nguyên nhân và yếu tố nguy cơ
Tân sinh (hemangiosarcoma, chemodectoma) và vô căn xuất huyết; giống lớn: golden, labrador, Saint Bernard, German Shepherd.
Dấu hiệu
- Tiếng tim mờ (chính)
- Khó thở, không chịu gắng sức, cổ chướng, niêm mạc nhợt
- Ngã, mạch yếu
Cổ chướng phản ánh ứ máu phải.
Chẩn đoán
Siêu âm tim (vàng); X-quang (tim cầu); ECG (điện thế thấp, electrical alternans); phân tích dịch.
Siêu âm cho thấy dịch chèn ép tim.
Điều trị
Chọc màng ngoài tim khẩn. Không lợi tiểu/giãn mạch trước khi dẫn lưu. Steroid nếu vô căn; cắt màng ngoài tim nếu tái phát.
Tiên lượng
Vô căn thường tốt. Tân sinh: thận trọng đến xấu.
Phòng ngừa
Không đặc hiệu; khám giống nguy cơ.
Khi nào gọi bác sĩ thú y
Khó thở, ngã, niêm mạc nhợt/xanh, bụng căng: cấp cứu mức 5.
