Intussusception is a life-threatening veterinary emergency where one segment of the intestine telescopes into another, causing a severe blockage and cutting off blood flow. Prompt surgical intervention is typically required to save the animal's life.

Dấu hiệu
- Nôn
- Đau bụng
- Tiêu chảy ít kèm máu
- Khối sờ được hình xúc xích
- Chán ăn, uể oải

Chẩn đoán
Sờ bụng, siêu âm (hình bia), X-quang, thụt cản quang hoặc nội soi đại tràng. Mổ thám sát.
Điều trị
Phẫu thuật: nắn nếu còn sống; không thì cắt nối. Dịch truyền, giảm đau, kháng sinh.
Tiên lượng
Thường tốt nếu mổ sớm không viêm phúc mạc.
Phòng ngừa
Tẩy giun, tiêm phòng, đổi thức ăn từ từ, tránh dị vật nuốt.
