Nasal tumors are uncommon but serious growths in the nasal cavities of dogs and cats. While most are malignant and locally aggressive, early detection combined with radiation or chemotherapy can help manage symptoms and extend your pet's quality of life.

Ce este?
Tumori in fose sau sinusuri (carcinoame, sarcoame, limfom). Metastaze precoce rare; distrugere locala puternica.
Cauze și factori de risc
Cauza necunoscuta. Posibili iritanti de mediu. Mai mult la varstnici; fara rasa constanta.
Semne
- Secretic nazala (cardinala)
- Epistaxis, flux de aer redus, stranutat
- Ocazional: asimetrie faciala, exoftalmie, semne neuro
Secretic unilaterala si umflare faciala discreta sunt semne precoce.
Cum diagnostichează medicii veterinari
Examen, CT/RM, rinoscopie, biopsie (standard de aur), stadializare; pisica FeLV/FIV.

Opțiuni de tratament
Radioterapia de electie. Chirurgia singura rareori suficienta. Chimioterapie (limfom). Paliatic: AINS, steroizi.
Prognostic
Fara tratament: luni. Cu radioterapie adesea 12-18 luni sau mai mult.
Prevenire
Evaluati devreme secretic cronica sau sangerarea.
Când sunați medicul veterinar
Urgent: epistaxis continuu, dispnee severa, semne neuro.
La rase anume
Fara rase fixe; semnele nazale cronice merita investigatie.
