Die Nase ist empfindlich: lokale Tumoren zerstoeren schnell.

Was ist das?

Tumoren in Nase oder Nebenhoehlen (Karzinome, Sarkome, Lymphom). Fruehe Metastasen selten; lokale Zerstoerung stark.

Ursachen und Risikofaktoren

Ursache unklar. Umweltreize moeglich. Eher aeltere Tiere; keine konstante Rasse.

Anzeichen

  • Nasenausfluss (kardinal)
  • Epistaxis, verminderter Luftstrom, Niesen
  • Gelegentlich: Gesichtsasymmetrie, Exophthalmus, Neurozeichen

Einseitiger Ausfluss und leichte Gesichtsschwellung sind fruehe Hinweise.

Diagnose

Untersuchung, CT/MRT, Rhinoskopie, Biopsie (Goldstandard), Staging; Katze FeLV/FIV.

Behandlung

Strahlentherapie erste Wahl. Chirurgie allein selten ausreichend. Chemo (Lymphom). Palliativ: NSAID, Steroide.

Prognose

Unbehandelt: Monate. Mit Strahlentherapie oft 12-18 Monate oder mehr.

Vorbeugung

Chronischen Ausfluss oder Blutung frueh abklaeren.

Wann den Tierarzt rufen

Dringend: anhaltende Epistaxis, schwere Dyspnoe, Neurozeichen.

Bei bestimmten Rassen

Keine feste Rasse; chronische Nasensymptome abklaeren.
