Malign primaer beintumor (hovedsakelig hund). Odelegger bein, metastaserer tidlig til lunge. Mindre metastatisk hos katt.

Storrelse/vekt, alder, genetikk hos store raser.

- Beinsmerte (kardinal)
- Haltning og hevelse (vanlig)
- Patologisk fraktur (av og til)
Vedvarende haltning og lokal hevelse er tidlige tegn.
Hvordan veterinærer diagnostiserer
Rontgen av beinet; thorax 3 projeksjoner eller CT; FNA/biopsi.

Behandling
Amputasjon + kjemo (Carboplatin, Cisplatin, Doxorubicin). Palliativt: Pamidronate.
Prognose
Amputasjon alene ~4-5 mnd; med kjemo ~12-18 mnd. Katt bedre.
Forebygging
Utred haltning tidlig.
Når ringe veterinær
Akutt: plutselig alvorlig haltning, dyspne eller hoste.
For spesifikke raser
Greyhound, Great Dane, Rottweiler, Labrador Retriever.
