TL;DR. Aggressiver, schmerzhafter Knochenkrebs bei Hund und Katze; Chirurgie und Chemotherapie gegen Schmerz und Lungenmetastasen.

Meist lange Roehrenknochen grosser Rassen.

Was ist das?

Maligner primaerer Knochentumor (v. a. Hund). Zerstoert Knochen, metastasiert frueh in die Lunge. Bei Katzen weniger metastatisch.

Ursachen und Risikofaktoren

Groesse/Gewicht, Alter, Genetik grosser Rassen.

Anzeichen

  • Knochenschmerz (kardinal)
  • Lahmheit und Schwellung (haeufig)
  • Pathologische Fraktur (gelegentlich)

Anhaltende Lahmheit und lokale Schwellung sind fruehe Zeichen.

Diagnose

Roentgen der Extremitaet; Thorax 3 Ebenen oder CT; FNA/Biopsie.

Behandlung

Amputation + Chemo (Carboplatin, Cisplatin, Doxorubicin). Palliativ: Pamidronate, Strahlentherapie.

Prognose

Amputation allein ~4-5 Monate; mit Chemo ~12-18 Monate. Katze besser.

Vorbeugung

Lahmheit frueh abklaeren.

Wann den Tierarzt rufen

Dringend: ploetzliche schwere Lahmheit, Dyspnoe oder Husten.

Bei bestimmten Rassen

Greyhound, Great Dane, Rottweiler, Labrador Retriever.
