Feline Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) is a highly contagious but common illness in cats, primarily caused by Feline Herpesvirus and Feline Calicivirus. Learn about symptoms, diagnostic tests, and treatment options.

TL;DR. Bệnh rất lây và phổ biến (chủ yếu herpesvirus và calicivirus); thường tự giới hạn với hỗ trợ; người mang herpes có thể tái phát khi stress.

URI thường gây chảy nước mắt, chảy mũi và uể oải nhẹ.

Là gì?

Phức hợp hô hấp trên. Tác nhân chính: FHV-1, FCV, cũng Chlamydophila felis, Bordetella, Mycoplasma. Viêm mũi, xoang và kết mạc.

Nguyên nhân và yếu tố nguy cơ

Tiếp xúc trực tiếp và fomite khi chen chúc. Stress, suy giảm miễn dịch và không tiêm vắc-xin làm nặng hơn. Mèo con và chưa tiêm dễ bị hơn.

Dấu hiệu cần theo dõi

  • Thường gặp: hắt hơi, chảy mũi/mắt, viêm kết mạc, uể oải nhẹ, sốt nhẹ
  • Thỉnh thoảng: loét miệng (FCV), bỏ ăn, ho
  • Nặng: loét giác mạc (FHV), viêm phổi, khó thở

Cách thú y chẩn đoán

Thường lâm sàng. PCR swab kết mạc/hầu họng khi cần. Công thức máu và X-quang nếu nghi viêm phổi.

Phương án điều trị

Hỗ trợ: ẩm, lau dịch tiết, dinh dưỡng, dịch. Kháng virus (vd. famciclovir) khi FHV nặng. Thuốc mắt. Kháng sinh toàn thân nếu bội nhiễm vi khuẩn.

Tiên lượng

Rất tốt giai đoạn cấp (7-14 ngày). Nhiều mang FHV với đợt bùng khi stress.

Phòng ngừa

Vắc-xin FVRCP; vệ sinh; cách ly mèo mới; giảm stress.

Khi nào gọi thú y

Cấp cứu: bỏ ăn >24 giờ, khó thở, mắt đau/đục, suy kiệt, dịch mủ đặc.
