- Use with caution in patients with **hepatic disease** or **thrombocytopenia**. Ketoconazole is a known **teratogen and embryotoxin**; weigh risks vs. benefits in pregnant animals. It may cause reversible infertility in male dogs by decreasing testosterone synthesis.
