Cats and dogs arriving by air can enter only through Auckland or Christchurch. The quarantine facility normally coordinates arrival, but the operating airline, transit country, crate and BOAS rules remain separate acceptance conditions.

The 2026 IHS took effect on 1 July 2026. The 2021 route remains accepted only during the transition ending 1 April 2027. Save the selected standard and certificate version on the plan; never combine dates or attestations across the two packs.

A primary rabies vaccination must be at least 6 months before shipment, remain continuously valid, and the RNATT result must be ≥0.5 IU/ml. The competent authority must communicate the identity check to MPI.
