Canada’s official answer branches by species, age, purpose and whether the owner accompanies the animal. Hong Kong is not on CFIA’s current rabies-free-country list. For a standard adult personal dog or cat, a valid rabies vaccination certificate in English or French that clearly identifies the animal is the usual document; an eligible RNATT is an alternative in the federal reference. Puppies, kittens, unaccompanied young dogs, adoption/resale and assistance dogs must not inherit the adult-personal result.

Federal document eligibility does not mean the airline accepts the animal, crate, breed or connection. Confirm the operating carrier and the receiving province; a transit country can add its own document or handling requirements.
