Winner Startup: HKTDC START-UP EXPRESS 2025

At-home health testing is becoming part of daily life thanks to rapid improvements in AI and smart medical devices. People now routinely track blood pressure, sleep quality, diet and biomarkers using wearable and home-based tools.

However, similar solutions for pets remain rare — and many animal health issues still go unnoticed until they become serious.

Peqaboo, developed by Hong Kong start-up Decennium Platforms Limited, aims to change that. The platform provides AI-powered pre-diagnostic screening for dogs and cats using simple photos, videos, and medical report uploads. The goal is to help pet owners detect early signs of health issues before symptoms escalate.

Founded in 2023 by Simon Chan with veterinary expertise support, Peqaboo combines AI analysis with practical guidance. The app includes tools such as:

• AI gait analysis for early mobility or joint issues

• Lab report interpretation presented in simple language

• Skin, fur and toxicity screening

• 3D body tracking for weight and shape changes

Pet owners can also store and share health records with veterinarians and service providers, improving continuity of care.

Peqaboo’s innovation has already gained recognition. The company was selected as a winner of the 2025 HKTDC Start-Up Express programme, acknowledging its contribution to the growing pet health technology sector.

🌏 Expansion and Partnerships

Peqaboo is currently expanding across Asian markets with high pet ownership, including Seoul, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo, with long-term plans to enter major English-speaking regions.

With support from HKTDC, the company formed a strategic collaboration with NXvet, Taiwan’s largest veterinary clinic management system serving more than 400 clinics and 3.6 million pets. The partnership integrates Peqaboo’s AI screening into clinical workflows and strengthens the platform’s data network.

Peqaboo is now preparing for its next funding round to support market growth, technology development and team expansion.
