Why there is no fever to find
Mammals hold a set body temperature and raise it during infection. That raised temperature is the fever, and it is generated internally.
A lizard has no such mechanism. Its body temperature is whatever its environment allows, moved around by where the animal chooses to sit.
What some reptiles do instead is behavioural fever. When ill, they select a warmer basking position and hold a higher body temperature than usual, which supports the immune response.
That only works if the enclosure offers a real gradient. A lizard in a uniformly warm or uniformly cool box has no way to express the behaviour.
So an enclosure with a proper hot end and cool end is not just comfort. It is part of how a sick lizard treats itself.

Measure the basking surface, the warm air temperature, and the cool end. Compare against the published range for your species, not a generic reptile figure.
Then light.

Changes that mean act today
