Why temperature runs everything

A sensible rule of thumb is 3 to 5 watts of heater per litre of water, and in a large tank two smaller heaters beat one big one, both for even heating and so that a single failure is only half a failure. Senior fish have weaker immune reserves and less resilience to stress, so stability matters even more.
