Bumblefoot, or ulcerative pododermatitis, is a common and painful inflammatory condition affecting a bird's footpads. Often caused by improper perching, obesity, or nutritional deficiencies, it can progress from mild redness to deep bone infections. Early detection and husbandry changes are vital for a successful recovery.

ما هي؟
التهاب جلد القدم التقرحي. نسيج رقيق: ضغط، إقفار، نخر، بكتيريا. خطر خراجات وأوتار والتهاب عظم ونقي.
الأسباب وعوامل الخطر
مجاثم متجانسة، بلاستيك أو ورق صنفرة؛ سمنة؛ نقص فيتامين أ؛ قلة حركة؛ نظافة سيئة؛ تخفيف القدم الأخرى.
"Captive raptors commonly present with pododermatitis because they stand most of the day. It has been shown that during flight, the temperature and blood supply to a raptor foot increase dramatically."

- تورم (شائع)
- تآكل / نعل أملس (شائع)

عاجل: عرج، قدم مرفوعة، أرضية القفص، فقدان شهية.
الاحمرار والتسطيح علامتان مبكرتان.
التشخيص
كلا القدمين والبيئة والنظام. فحص خلوي؛ أشعة؛ زرع وحساسية.
الأشعة تقيّم إصابة العظم.
العلاج
تغذية (فيتامين أ، حبيبات، خضار). عناية بالجرح، تنظيف جراحي، ضمادات تفريغ. تسكين ومضادات حسب الزرع. دون تصحيح المجاثم والنظام يفشل العلاج غالبا.
المآل
خفيف: جيد. عميق: حذر إلى سيئ.
الوقاية
مجاثم طبيعية بأقطار متنوعة؛ بلا ورق صنفرة؛ حبيبات وخضار؛ نظافة؛ حركة؛ وزن.
متى تتصل
احمرار أو تورم أو قشور أو عرج. طوارئ إذا لا يحمل وزنا أو على أرضية القفص أو فاقد شهية.
