Community Guidelines

Everything in our community comes back to four principles:

Peqaboo has zero tolerance for animal cruelty. The following are strictly prohibited:

• Content depicting, promoting, or glorifying animal abuse, cruelty, neglect, or abandonment
• Content showing animals in distress for entertainment purposes
• Promoting or facilitating illegal animal trade, wildlife trafficking, or sale of endangered species
• Sharing instructions for harmful practices such as ear cropping, tail docking (where illegal), or DIY medical procedures
• Promoting animal fighting or any form of animal exploitation
• Content encouraging feeding pets harmful substances or dangerous "challenges"

We expect all members to engage respectfully:

• No harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threats directed at any member
• No hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic
• No personal attacks, name-calling, or deliberately inflammatory comments ("trolling")
• No doxxing — sharing someone's private information (address, phone number, workplace) without their consent
• Constructive disagreements are welcome, but attacks on people (rather than ideas) are not
• Respect cultural differences in pet care practices across our global community

All content shared on Peqaboo must meet these standards:

Pet profiles are a core feature of Peqaboo. To maintain their integrity:

• Only create profiles for pets you own or are the legal guardian of
• Provide accurate information about your pet's species, breed, age, and health status
• Do not create fake pet profiles or use pet profiles for non-animal-related purposes
• Health records shared through the Platform are private by default — they are only shared with parties you explicitly authorise (e.g., a veterinarian via VetSheet)
• Do not use another user's pet photos without their permission

Honest reviews help the entire community. When posting reviews for veterinary clinics, pet shops, or services listed on BooMap:

• Only review places you have actually visited or services you have used
• Be honest and fair — include both positive and negative aspects of your experience
• Do not post fake reviews, paid reviews (without disclosure), or reviews intended to manipulate ratings
• Do not use reviews to make personal attacks against staff or other customers
• Business owners may respond to reviews professionally but must not threaten, bribe, or coerce reviewers

Commercial activity on Peqaboo must be transparent and comply with our policies:

• Sponsored or paid content must be clearly disclosed as such
• Affiliate links must be disclosed
• Do not promote products or services that are harmful to animals
• Multi-level marketing (MLM) schemes and pyramid schemes are prohibited
• Sale of live animals through the Platform is not permitted
• Veterinary professionals promoting their services must clearly identify themselves and their qualifications

Protecting the privacy and safety of our members is paramount:

• Do not share others' personal information without their consent
• Do not share your own sensitive personal information (financial details, medical records) in public posts
• Be cautious when arranging in-person meetups — meet in public places and inform someone you trust
• Report any suspicious behaviour, including scams, catfishing, or predatory conduct
• Do not use the Platform to stalk, monitor, or track other users

We enforce these Guidelines consistently and fairly. Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, consequences may include:

We rely on our community to help keep Peqaboo safe. If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these Guidelines:

• Use the in-app report button on any post, comment, profile, or message
• Include as much detail as possible in your report
• All reports are reviewed by our moderation team and handled confidentially
• We do not reveal the identity of reporters to the reported party
• False or malicious reports are themselves a violation of these Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to address new challenges, evolving community needs, or changes in applicable laws. We will notify you of material changes through the Platform. Continued use of Peqaboo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
