Tranexamic acid

Tranexamic acid is prescribed to help **stop or prevent excessive bleeding** by stabilizing blood clots. * **Administration:** Can be given with or without food. If vomiting occurs, try giving with a small meal. * **Side Effects:** Watch for stomach upset. > Contact your veterinarian immediately if you notice sudden weakness, difficulty breathing, or seizures.

- Gastrointestinal upset (vomiting, diarrhea)
- Hypotension (if given rapidly IV)
- Seizures (at high doses)
- Retinal changes (rare, high doses)
注意事項與禁忌
- Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC)
- Thromboembolic disease
- Severe renal impairment (without dose adjustment)
- Administer IV injections **slowly** to prevent hypotension and vomiting. Dose reduction is required in patients with **renal impairment** as the drug is primarily excreted unchanged in the urine.

- Tissue plasminogen activators (e.g., alteplase): Antagonizes fibrinolytic effects
