Cimicoxib

Cimicoxib is used to relieve pain and inflammation in your dog, often for arthritis or after surgery. **Give this medication exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian.** > **Warning:** Stop the medication and contact your vet immediately if your dog stops eating, vomits, has diarrhea, or if you notice dark, tarry stools. Always provide plenty of fresh water. Because these tablets are flavored and chewable, keep them securely stored out of reach of all pets to prevent accidental overdose. Do not give any other pain medications without consulting your vet.

- Dogs less than 10 weeks of age
- Dogs weighing less than 2 kg
- Gastrointestinal disorders or ulceration
- Impaired hepatic, cardiac, or renal function
- Bleeding disorders
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or sulfonamides
- > **Caution:** Ensure the dog is adequately hydrated and normotensive before administration to minimize the risk of renal toxicity. Do not use concurrently with corticosteroids or other NSAIDs. Monitor liver and kidney function during long-term use. Wash hands after handling the product.

- Corticosteroids: Increased risk of severe gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding
- Other NSAIDs: Increased risk of gastrointestinal and renal toxicity
- ACE inhibitors: Increased risk of nephrotoxicity and reduced hypotensive effect
- Diuretics: Increased risk of nephrotoxicity
- Warfarin: Competition for plasma protein binding sites, potentially increasing bleeding risk
